- This week in New Orleans history. September 7, 1963 First NFL Exhibition Game in New Orleans at Tulane Stadium. An NFL double-header exhibition special is played at Tulane Stadium in the first-ever racially integrated seating event in the stadium’s history. The Cowboys defeated the Lions in game one 27-17, and the second game had the Bears defeating the Colts 14-7. Some 51,218 fans attended.
