Discover the New Orleans of today present even in the city’s past. Katy Morlas Shannon received her Bachelors in English and Masters in History from Louisiana State University. She has been a professional historian for over fifteen years and has dedicated her career to uncovering the stories of the enslaved on plantations lining Louisiana’s River Road. Her work includes crucial early research for Whitney Plantation, Laura Plantation, and Evergreen Plantation.
